  • The Latin name for the tea plant is Camellia sinensis, and it is how the leaf is processed once plucked that determines whether the end product will be a black, green, or another type of tea.

  • There are many elements to it, and it can be quite site specific. So, if you are considering growing tea then feel free to get in touch and we can offer informal advice based on our experiences.

  • Yes you can! If you are based in Scotland and are growing tea, or about to grow tea, then please get in touch.

  • Our two products, The Gathering and The Blackhouse, are blended teas from leaf plucked from our members’ gardens all over Scotland. In addition, some of our members are making their own single estate teas. See Our Teas for more information.

  • The Gathering and the Blackhouse are made in batches throughout the growing season then packaged and released each year in the autumn. See “Our Tea” if you’re interested in purchasing a tin or two.

  • We ship to anywhere in the United Kingdom. If you are based in Europe or further afield, please get in contact by email and we’ll get back to you with amended delivery costs.
