Tulloch Tea, Sutherland

Lucy Williams

Lucy and Chris live on the shores of Loch Migdale in the Highlands of Scotland, surrounded by misty hills with a south facing outlook.

They began their tea journey creating herbal blends from the hedgerows, with dreams of a self sustaining lifestyle. They bought a small croft with expansive views and began their tea garden.

Camellias and a range of herbs and wildflowers are grown in harmony with the land, using regenerative techniques to create a biodiverse haven for wildlife.

We made a pledge to each other early in our tea growing adventure, everything we create to sell will be 100% croft grown or locally sourced for complete authenticity and a true taste of the Scottish Highlands.
— Lucy, Tulloch Tea

A secret garden emerged, with winding paths for the children to explore and tea plants growing amongst the daisies, nasturtiums and willowherb. Frogs emerge from the pounds dotted through the garden and birds nest at the base of the tea plants.

Tulloch’s botanical teas, coffees and small batch apothecary, evoke a taste of place.  The peaty water from the heather covered hills, the wild, warm winds from the west and the hard sparkling winters all permeate the plants.
